Veterinarian at East Hills Veterinary Clinic
Hi! I'm Dr. Shelbey Todd, and my journey to becoming a veterinarian has been fueled by a lifelong passion for animal care. I graduated from Hanover College in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of Cincinnati in 2018. My formal veterinary training was completed at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2022.
I joined East Hills Veterinary Clinic in 2023 and also work at the Animal Adoption Foundation. Today, my professional interests focus on soft tissue surgeries, particularly spay and neuter procedures!
I have always wanted to be a veterinarian. I grew up with animals and never pictured myself doing anything different. In the sixth grade I drew an animal shelter/animal hospital I wanted to build one day. As I got older, not only did I have a passion for animals and their lives, I began to understand the human animal bond and how important it is to a fulfilling life.
Veterinary medicine is a wonderfully diverse field, allowing me to work closely with both animals and their caregivers. I cherish developing these relationships, helping pet owners understand and manage their pets' health conditions effectively. I am Fear Free and RECOVER CPR certified and an active member of the Veterinary Business Management Association and a newly appointed animal welfare advocate for the Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association.
Outside of my veterinary life, I enjoy ballet, tap dancing, playing soccer, and gaming. My home is filled with four cats, two dogs, three guinea pigs, a collection of reptiles and amphibians, and ten hermit crabs! I also have a green thumb for indoor plants and find time to crochet.
My career is more than a profession; it's a fulfillment of a childhood dream and a lifestyle dedicated to fostering the human-animal bond.
